David is a leading expert on the global film and cinema market and played a fundamental role in the conversion of cinemas to digital projection and distribution technology over the past decade. Leading Omdia’s cinema team, he has set up the cinema intelligence service and the premium cinema service, most recently.
David has authored reports on the cinema market and participated in consultancy projects. He specializes in new business models, market sizing and valuation, competitor analysis and benchmarking, strategic roadmaps, due diligence, and market analyses.
Since 2015, David is the President of the European Digital Cinema Forum and often contributes to media regarding the film industry. Prior to joining Omdia (formerly IHS Markit), David was as a research consultant at IDATE DigiWorld and a senior executive with Eurimages.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) in business studies and French from Leeds Beckett University in the UK and studied at the Brest Business School in France.
Director, Media and Advertising
Jack Kent leads IHS Markit’s Media and Advertising research, heading up a team of analysts covering Games, Cinema, TV Channels & Programming, Home Entertainment and Advertising research. Jack joined the company in 2008 and launched its coverage of the emerging mobile apps market and consumer platforms and ecosystems.
Jack has led consultancy projects on subjects ranging from the market for children’s mobile entertainment, to the potential of the applications business for media companies in the Middle East. Mr. Pablo Carrera is a principal research analyst for Cinema Intelligence at Omdia.
He joined the Cinema Intelligence team in 2016 to contribute to the research and analysis of the over 60 markets covered by the service. He contributes his knowledge of the film business gained from a 14 year career in media, which he began producing short films and documentaries in Spain before moving to the UK in 2007. He then developed film finance expertise working in the production and structured finance divisions of an established film financier, earning credits in some films. Pablo has also co-founded and managed a music publishing company specialized in film and TV soundtracks and advised film producers and financiers as independent consultant. Mr. Pablo Carrera holds a degree in Media from the University of Valencia (Spain) and a PG Diploma in Business for the Creative Industries from the National Film and TV School, UK.
