Qatari broadcaster beIN Media Group has won the latest round of its battle with beOUtQ, with the World Trade Organisation (WTO) releasing its ruling today on allegations that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was behind the pirate operation. The case was brought to the WTO by the state of Qatar, alleging serious violations of the Agreement on Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights by the Kingdom. The case involved the illegal transmission in the territory of Saudi Arabia, by an entity called beOUTQ, of sports content which rights were exclusively owned by beIN Media.
