Research VP, Telco & Service Provider
As Research Vice President, Evan is responsible for the breadth of Omdia’s research into service providers, their markets, and the vendors that support them. His team of industry specialists covers strategies and regulation, regional markets, networks, consumer, enterprise, and wholesale services.
Evan’s primary focus is to help providers identify new opportunities and guide the communications ecosystem toward them. He provides insights, which enable providers to transform their own networks and operations, counter competitive risk, develop ecosystem strategies, and offer innovative services to consumers and businesses. B2B services remain as his core expertise.
Prior to joining Omdia (formerly Ovum) in 2009, Evan worked at Datamonitor and Nortel Networks.
He holds a degree in English and European studies from Amherst College and Master of Philosophy in European politics from the University of Oxford.
Kris Szaniawski is the practice leader for Omdia's Telecoms Operations and IT team, heading research into the changes in service provider operating models and vendor strategy.
He specializes in OSS/BSS, CEM, data analytics, cloud and digital transformation, and vendor services with a specific focus on telco IT and operational support systems.
Kris leads a team of analysts who provide guidance and support to service providers and vendors in an environment characterized by rapid technology and business change.
With more than 20 years' experience in the telecoms industry, Kris has also worked for Informa's Telecoms and Media team and the Financial Times Group.
Principal Analyst, Telco IT & Operations
As part of the Omdia service provider transformation team, Adaora Okeleke covers the service provider operations and information technology service with a specific interest in intelligent operations and the customer experience. Adaora researches artificial intelligence (AI), automation, analytics, and big data for telco networks and supporting operations.
Adaora produced a series on using AI to improve network operations, as well as a decision matrix on network analytics tools used by telcos. Before joining Omdia in 2013, was an RF planning and optimization engineer for Motorola and as a quality assurance officer for the software company Socketworks. Adaora holds a Bachelor of Engineering from University of Nigeria, Nsukka and a Master of Science from Imperial College London.
Practice Leader, Fixed and Mobile Infrastructure
Daryl covers the wireless infrastructure space at Omdia, with a primary focus on the radio access network (RAN). His research primarily covers the vendor community and how operators are using mobile solutions coming from the vendors. As Practice Leader, he manages the team that is responsible for fixed and mobile infrastructure research.
With more than 20 years of industry analyst experience, Daryl has helped technology vendors developing use cases for new products, identifying technology trends, and providing market sizing and forecasts. He regularly speaks at industry and vendor events. He also comments on mergers, acquisitions, new product announcements, and market developments for trade publications.
Prior to joining Omdia (formerly Ovum) in September 2011, he held similar positions at Current Analysis and In-Stat. Daryl also worked at telecommunications service provider, Cable & Wireless USA, where he was a member of the market and competitive intelligence team.
Daryl has a Bachelor of Science in marketing management from Virginia Tech.
Practice Leader, Transport Networks & Components
Ian is the Practice Leader for Omdia’s components, transport and routing practice and is responsible for strategy, client, product, and team development. Managing a team of communications technology professionals, he covers how communications service providers, internet content providers, and enterprises utilize and deploy leading-edge optical networks, components, and routing technologies.
Ian covers the data center interconnect, optical components, and optical networks systems markets. He also conducts custom research and consulting for clients. His team tracks market share for terrestrial and subsea optical networks, mobile xHaul, optical components, and service provider switching and routing vendors, and their latest research initiative is sorting how optical and routed networks will evolve for 5G. Ian is the 2019 winner of the NGON & DCI World People’s Choice Award and is a regular speaker at industry events. Ian received his MBA from Queen's University at Kingston in Canada and a degree in electrical engineering from the University of Manitoba.
