Senior Analyst, Service Provider IoT Strategies
As part of Omdia's Internet of Things (IoT) practice, John is based in Boston. His specialist areas of coverage include service provider IoT strategies, IoT platforms, IoT product and go-to-market approaches, and key IoT vertical markets, including connected cars.
Prior to joining the Omdia (formerly Ovum) IoT team in 2019, John spent over five years working in product management and product development with AT&T's IoT organization. He provided commercial and market support in areas including connected cars, fleet solutions, smart cities, and smart homes. Before joining AT&T, John was an analyst with Strategy Analytics, focusing on connected car markets, technologies, and opportunities. John holds a Bachelor of Arts in economics from Trinity College in Connecticut and a Master of Science with distinction in international strategy and economics from the University of St Andrews in Scotland.
Senior Analyst, Smart Utility Meters
Susanne focuses on industrial communications, discrete machine-safety components, and switchgear as a member of the manufacturing technology team. Previously, she worked at Cranfield University as a research assistant. Susanne holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in physics with astrophysics from Nottingham Trent University. She is based in Wellingborough, UK.
Senior Research Analyst
As a part of smartphone intelligence team, Anna focuses on mobile device research in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Anna covers smartphone shipments and mobile technology trends and examines company strategies. She contributes to the smartphone intelligence service and keeps a regional focus on the European and Russian smartphone markets.
Ms. Ahrens joined Omdia in January 2019 with more than 10 years of experience in the electronic components industry, including roles in forecasting, market intelligence, business development, and product management for display devices. Previously, she worked at Samsung Semiconductors Europe. Ms. Ahrens holds a Bachelor of Applied Linguistics and Cultural Studies from the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, Germany. She is based in Frankfurt am Main, Germany and is fluent in German, English, and Russian.
Senior Analyst, X-ray
Sharjeel currently leads the X-ray Intelligence Service, which offers comprehensive research on all X-ray modalities, including general radiography, minimally invasive therapy, and the flat panel detector market. With over three years of experience working in the healthcare industry, Sharjeel has a wide range of expertise in the imaging market. He works on both syndicated and custom research to deliver data, forecasts, competitive intelligence, and other market signifiers.
Prior to joining Omdia, Sharjeel worked within the pharmacovigilance sphere at Johnson & Johnson and at Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma.
Sharjeel obtained both his undergraduate and graduate degrees in the UK—a Bachelor of Science with honors in biochemistry from the University of Birmingham and a Master of Science in biotechnology, bioprocessing, and business management from the University of Warwick.
