As part of Omdia’s telecoms operations and IT team, James Crawshaw specializes in managed services and operations support systems. These include service and network management systems such as service assurance, orchestration/fulfillment, order management, inventory management, SON, network security, etc.
James’ research helps communications service operators (CSPs) and their technology partners make better informed decisions on the critical business and technical issues that affect their companies. Before joining Omdia, James led Heavy Reading’s communications service provider IT & automation research service. He continues to examine the breadth of systems and software used by CSPs in customer, business, service, and infrastructure management. James holds a Bachelor of Science and Master of Engineering in electrical and mechanical engineering from the University of Manchester, England.
Kris Szaniawski
Research Director, Service Provider Access, Software and Transformation
As Research Director, Kris is responsible for Omdia’s research coverage of telecoms IT and access network technologies. He leads a global team of telecoms industry specialists monitoring and analyzing technology market developments, and supporting clients’ network, software, and operations transformation strategies.
His areas of expertise include the rapidly changing telecoms ecosystem, network evolution and automation, operations and business support systems transformation, and the move to the cloud. With over 25 years’ experience in the industry, Kris has also worked for Ovum, Informa Telecoms and Media, Financial Times Group, and Jane’s Information Group.
Naga Sukumar Gattu

Naga Sukumar Gattu is an Analyst, supporting the IT market models team and primarily deals with data modeling and forecasting, market sizing of IT spending, and tracking industry trends. His research helps to understand the adoption of digital transformation technologies and provides insights for IT budgets, investment priorities, and market growth.
Sukumar specializes in IT spending, budget prediction, and market forecasting. His research includes market sizing, trend analysis, forecasting, vendor analysis, and rankings for the technology spending market. Sukumar also supports database management of premium tools and the primary research and consulting projects of Omdia. Before joining Omdia, formerly Ovum, in 2013, he worked as an associate analyst at GlobalData, where he worked in market research and business intelligence. Sukumar holds a master’s degree in business administration, specializing in marketing and finance, from Osmania University in Hyderabad, India, and a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Kakatiya University in Telangana, India.
