Michael Philpott
Research Director, Service Provider Consumer
With 25 years of experience in the telecommunications and digital media markets, Michael Philpott is Omdia's leading analyst in the connected home area. As Research Director for service provider consumer, he delivers thought leadership to Omdia’s clients on digital home go-to-market strategy.
At Omdia, Michael produces reports, case studies, and forecasts in the areas of smart home, smart Wi-Fi and connected home, and broadband access strategy. He joined Omdia (formerly Ovum) in 2000 as a consultant in the networks and Infrastructure team, before moving to the analyst side of the business establishing and leading Ovum’s broadband, telco media, and smart home analyst services.
Before joining Omdia, he worked at BT’s research and development (R&D) laboratory, Adastral Park, designing xDSL and fibre optic access networks.

Jonathan Doran
Principal Analyst, Digital Consumer Operator Strategies
As part of Omdia’s digital consumer operator strategies (DCOS) research practice, Jonathan covers the TV and video entertainment sectors. He is an expert in telco video, with a particular focus on operator product and service strategies, delivering a comprehensive range of telco TV and over-the-top (OTT) partnership analyses.
Jonathan has a specific interest in video entertainment and the relationships between traditional pay-TV operators and third-party OTT video service providers. Tracking the evolving landscape for bundled video services forms a key component of his research. Prior to joining Omdia (formerly Ovum), Jonathan spent eight years with Yankee Group, where he specialized in consumer technology, broadband, and digital TV issues.

Pål Karlsen
Research Analyst, Emerging Consumer Services
Pål Karlsen leads the lighting research of the building technology team of Omdia. Before joining Omdia, formerly IHS Markit, in 2019, he worked as a senior analyst for a specialist consultancy serving the building products industry. Pål led the research on the Nordic countries and focused mostly on the HVAC and bathroom industry.
He holds a Master of Arts in globalization and multinational corporations from SOAS University of London in London, England and a Bachelor of Science in business and economics from BI Norwegian Business School in Norway. Pål is based in London, England.

Nicole McCormick
Senior Principal Analyst, Broadband & Bundling
Nicole McCormick is the practice leader of the broadband and multiplay team at Omdia, formerly Ovum. She leads a global team of analysts who cover mobile and fixed broadband operator strategies, delivering leading data, outlook, and coverage such as pricing strategies, LTE monetization strategies, telco innovations, and mobile roaming for the Asia Pacific region.
She has more than 20 years’ experience covering the telecoms and television sectors in Asia Pacific. Nicole is a regular presenter and moderator at industry conferences in the region.

Peter Boyland
Principal Analyst, Broadband, Bundling and Pricing
Peter Boyland is a Principal Analyst covering consumer broadband access, bundling, and pricing trends. As part of Omdia’s digital consumer operator strategies team, he covers internet service provider consumer broadband strategies and monitors technical and regulatory developments across the telecoms sector.
Peter has 10 years of experience in the telecoms sector, working as analyst for GSMA Intelligence, OpenSignal, STL Partners, and IHS Markit. He has wide experience across the mobile, fixed, and media sectors, and is regularly quoted by the press as an expert in his field. Peter is an experienced broadcast journalist and editor and holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Journalism from Falmouth University.

Pamela Clark-Dickson
Principal Analyst, Advanced Messaging and Communications
Pamela Clark-Dickson covers the global communications apps and services, tracking the telcos and messaging apps strategies, application-to-person communications service providers and vendors, and the rich communications services ecosystem. She produces analysis, reports, data trackers, and forecasts on these sectors. Pamela also covers players, strategies, and developments in adjacent markets, including social media, Communications-Platform-as-a-Service, and WebRTC.
Pamela’s experience in consultancy comprises multiple projects for operators, vendors, and telecoms suppliers. She is a regular speaker and chair at industry events, including the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain and Shanghai, China. Pamela has covered the telecoms sector for more than 20 years as an analyst and journalist; she joined Informa UK (the owner of Omdia) in 2002. Pamela holds a Bachelor of Arts in journalism. A highlight of her career was helping break the news in April 2013 that chat app messages exceeded global SMS traffic volumes, underlining the emergence of the messaging app as a successful new mobile communications tool.

Charlotte Palfrey
Senior Analyst, Advanced Messaging and Communications
Charlotte Palfrey works in the advanced messaging and communications team covering telco messaging, OTT messaging, and social media. She has a specific interest in consumer messaging, business messaging, and revenue generation strategies for social platforms.
Her core research focuses on RCS and social platforms. She also produces forecasts for RCS usage and revenue, OTT messaging revenues, and social platform revenues. Additionally, she co-authors Omdia’s Location Platform Index.
Prior to joining the advanced messaging and communications team, Charlotte worked within the digital media team and provided analysis on digital publishing, video gaming, ad blocking, content distribution platforms, and children's media.
She joined Omdia (formerly Ovum) in 2012 having previously worked as an analyst for Juniper research covering mobile content and applications.
Charlotte holds a master's degree in mathematics from the University of Warwick.

Mariana Zamoszczyk
Principal Analyst, Smart Home Services
As part of Omdia's Service Providers team, Mariana Zamoszczyk covers the smart home industry, with a specific interest in vendor and services provider smart home strategies, AI assistants and assisted living solutions.
Mariana joined Omdia in March 2016. Previously, she worked for BT Global Services, leading the Latin American Insight & Analytics team and carrying out competitor and customer intelligence, among other research and sales support activities. Prior to BT, Mariana worked for IDC and Frost & Sullivan.
Mariana has over 19 years of experience in the IT and Telecommunications industry.
Mariana holds a MA in Political Economy from the University of Sheffield, and a BA in Economics from the University of Buenos Aires. Also, she speaks Spanish and Portuguese.
