Practice Lead, IoT
Andy Brown is an industry expert on enterprise mobility and the IoT, with 25 years’ experience providing consulting and advisory services in IT market research, with a specialist focus on enterprise, IoT, mobility, connectivity, B2B, AI, security, and wireless networks. In addition to managing a team of analysts that advises on all aspects of the IoT ecosystem, Andy spends his time helping network service providers, device vendors, regulators, and many other vendors understand the implications and opportunities presented by the growing IoT space.
Andy joined Omdia from Strategy Analytics, where he worked for 14 years. Prior to that, he worked at IDC for a decade. He also worked for Lucas Automotive GmbH in Germany as a market analyst. He gained a joint honors degree in marketing and German from Lancaster University in the UK.
Senior Analyst, Service Provider IoT Strategies
As part of Omdia's Internet of Things (IoT) practice, John is based in Boston. His specialist areas of coverage include service provider IoT strategies, IoT platforms, IoT product and go-to-market approaches, and key IoT vertical markets, including connected cars.
Prior to joining the Omdia (formerly Ovum) IoT team in 2019, John spent over five years working in product management and product development with AT&T's IoT organization. He provided commercial and market support in areas including connected cars, fleet solutions, smart cities, and smart homes. Before joining AT&T, John was an analyst with Strategy Analytics, focusing on connected car markets, technologies, and opportunities. John holds a Bachelor of Arts in economics from Trinity College in Connecticut and a Master of Science with distinction in international strategy and economics from the University of St Andrews in Scotland.
Senior Analyst, IoT
As part of Omdia’s Internet of Things (IoT) practice, Gavin covers service provider IoT strategies, IoT devices, and go-to-market approaches. Gavin is based in Malaysia, where his focus is on the Asia & Oceania region.
Prior to joining Omdia, Gavin gained approximately two years of market research experience as a market analyst in IDC, focusing on the IT services market and public cloud services market in Asia. Before joining IDC, Gavin was part of the IT consulting team and then the IT audit team in KPMG Malaysia. Gavin holds a Bachelor of Arts in finance awarded by the University of Hertfordshire.
Research Director, AI & IOT
As director of Internet of Things (IoT) research at Omdia, Josh manages a global team of analysts who produce insightful market intelligence on the IoT market. He guides the team’s strategy, research agenda, and commercial planning. Using industry contacts and granular data, Josh provides clients with actionable advice to uncover opportunities in the IoT space.
With over a decade of experience in the IoT industry, Josh has worked on topics ranging from hardware components to connectivity technologies and vertical market use cases. Prior to joining Omdia, he served as vice president of product management at Ingenu, formulating the company’s product roadmap and guiding cross-functional teams. From 2010 to 2016, he led IHS Markit’s coverage of the IoT market and guided the launch of the first IHS IoT Intelligence service. Josh’s previous experience also includes serving government and military officials as a national security intelligence analyst. He holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.
Senior Research Analyst, IoT Technologies and Verticals, AI & IoT
As part of Omdia’s IoT practice, Eleftheria covers a range of topics and trends. Her specialist areas of coverage include service provider IoT strategies, AR/VR adoption in IoT, and key IoT vertical markets, including connected cars and smart cities. Eleftheria is based in the London office.
Prior to joining Omdia, Eleftheria worked as a market research analyst at ABI Research, focusing on the AR and VR market and consumer technologies. Before joining ABI Research, she spent a year as an intern at Vodafone in the IoT Enterprise and Communication teams. Elef holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Peloponnese in Greece and a master’s degree in business and human resources management from Aston University in Birmingham, UK.
