Research Director, Enterprise IT
Cem Nurkan leads a global team of enterprise technology analysts focusing on creating high-quality syndicated research, as well as developing and maintaining relationships with all players in the Enterprise IT ecosystem.
He has a wealth of experience accumulated over the last 25 years with tech companies, service providers, and research organizations.
Cem is an expert in developing strategic business relationships, particularly with industry suppliers, distributors, and customers. Previously, he headed up Nurkan Consulting and provided strategic advice to investment banks and equity funds on asset heavy tech investments, such as subsea cable systems and base station refreshes as well as offering procurement and technology advice to enterprises.
Cem has also held the position of head of carrier, Benelux, at China Telecom Europe where he built and expanded on strategic Tier 1 and 2 carrier relationships and established the Benelux region as a new focus area. Prior to this, Cem spent time working at Gartner, specialising in offering strategic advice to help Nordic tech companies with their technology, clients, and the competitive marketplace. Nurkan began his career working for well-established tech brands IBM, Cisco, and Dell.
Cem serves as an Advisory Board member to two technology companies.
Analyst
As part of Omdia's IT tools and insights team, Gajender handles the ICT Sales Prospector and Spending Predictor tools with a focus on database management. He uses these tools to estimate enterprises’ ICT spending share of wallet based on Omdia’s proprietary spending predictive engine.
Prior to joining Omdia (formerly Ovum) in 2014, Gajender worked as an analyst at the Hackett Group, where he handled the benchmarking process for clients’ IT, finance, and procurement functions. He started his career at Datamonitor as a business performance analyst. His main interests include Tableau, SQL Server, and database management. He holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management in marketing and operations from the Institute of Public Enterprise and a Bachelor of Technology from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad.
Analyst
Naga Sukumar Gattu is an Analyst, supporting the IT market models team and primarily deals with data modeling and forecasting, market sizing of IT spending, and tracking industry trends. His research helps to understand the adoption of digital transformation technologies and provides insights for IT budgets, investment priorities, and market growth.
Sukumar specializes in IT spending, budget prediction, and market forecasting. His research includes market sizing, trend analysis, forecasting, vendor analysis, and rankings for the technology spending market. Sukumar also supports database management of premium tools and the primary research and consulting projects of Omdia. Phaninder is an analyst in Omdia’s IT tools and insight team, where he manages the company research team and works on IT market models. He carries out financial and strategic SWOT analyses of companies, considering operational, financial, and strategic metrics across healthcare; banking, financial services, and insurance; technology, media, and telecoms; transportation and logistics; and manufacturing.
Phaninder joined Omdia (formerly Ovum) in 2018 and has expertise in providing strategic, competitive, and financial analysis of companies through advanced secondary research using both qualitative and quantitative data. He prepares insightful and intensive reports on companies, providing vital information for business and strategic planning, investment opportunities, competitor benchmarking, and marketing.
Phaninder previously worked as an analyst at Global Data PLC, where he performed secondary research, company profiling, financial analysis, and SWOT reports of companies. In 2019, he won an Omdia award for going the extra mile to deliver projects on time. Phaninder has a postgraduate diploma in banking, insurance, and finance.
Analyst
Praveen works in the IT tools and insights team, where he provides Tableau visualization for Omdia’s data tools. He is responsible for creating, maintaining, and updating the Tableau dashboards that enable users to analyze Omdia’s data.
Prior to joining Omdia (formerly Ovum) in September 2019, Praveen worked in Apalya Technologies as a Tableau developer for four years, where he was involved in creating, formatting, and updating dashboards according to client requirements.
Praveen holds a bachelor’s degree in electronics and communications engineering from JNTU in Hyderabad, India.
Research Manager
Sirish leads research that focuses on a wide range of products for Omdia spanning IT and telecom contracts products, the ICT Enterprise Insights primary research program, data visualization, and key aspects of IT sales intelligence tools.
With 14 years of vast research experience, Sirish oversees the development of tools such as IT Services Contracts Analytics, Telecoms IT Contracts Analytics, and Telecoms Vendor Contracts Analytics. He is also responsible for the design and execution of syndicated primary research programs, and visualization of survey and premium IT data tools.
Prior to joining Omdia, his work focused on areas covering telecom service innovation, emerging market telecom operator strategies, mobile device launches, next-generation networks, and SWOT analysis of IT, telecom, and media companies.
He has an engineering degree in computer science and an MBA with finance as his specialization.
Analyst
Kranthi Kumar Buddharaju is an Analyst for Omdia. He works mainly on Omdia's ICT Enterprise Insights (ICTEI) program and oversees Tableau visualizations for Omdia's data tools. He also gathers IT market intelligence through secondary research.
Before joining Omdia, formerly Ovum, in 2014, Kranthi worked in business and market research for Global Data Plc. As an analyst, he covered the oil and gas industry and prepared production forecasting models based on macroeconomic and industry-specific drivers, handled data modelling and created, validated and handled quality assurance for databases. Before his work at Global Data, Kranthi worked as a customer relationship manager for the retail banking side of Kotak Mahindra Bank.
Kranthi holds a bachelor's degree in electronics and communication from JNTU, Hyderabad and a PGDM in marketing and operations from Vignana Jyothi institute of management, Hyderabad.
