Hisakazu Torii
Chief Analyst, Consumer Devices
As a Chief Researcher with Omdia’s TV and consumer electronics team, Torii specializes in TV set research, demand forecasting, global brand competition, and new technologies including OLED, 8K, and smart TVs. He regularly works directly with clients, speaks at seminars, and is cited in various media publications.
Torii joined Omdia (previously IHS Markit) in November 2014. Prior to that, he served as vice president of global TV market research at DisplaySearch. With 18 years of display industry experience, he was responsible for covering all Japanese TV brands globally. He has also worked at Mitsubishi Electric, where he conducted market research for product groups, business planning, and new product development in all major display applications, including TVs, notebook PCs, monitors, mobile phones, digital still cameras, digital video recorders, automotive displays, and industrial applications. He earned a degree from the Department of Law at Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan.

Paul Gray
Research Director, Consumer Electronics and Devices
Paul Gray leads the home devices research, spanning television sets, smart home, consumer electronics, and domestic appliances. His main research area is TV sets, focusing on the European region, broadcast technology, smart TV, and new TV features. Paul is also heavily engaged in researching the development of the Ultra HD ecosystem.
He joined Omdia, formerly IHS Markit, more than 10 years ago. With more than 30 years’ experience in the TV set supply chain working for NXP and Philips in semiconductors and displays, Paul continues to research the TV set business. He has also worked on wearable and media devices and has tracked and forecast the smart TV business from its very beginning. Paul has been cited by, among others, the Financial Times, Korea Times, Korea Daily, Nikkei, and Le Monde. He has also offered expert viewpoints in online, radio, and television programming. Paul holds a degree in electrical engineering and a diploma in industrial studies.

Bing Zhang
Senior Principal Analyst, TV
Bing Zhang is a senior principal analyst; his main research interests are the TV market and consumer electronics and devices within the Omdia group. Bing Zhang provides analysis of the global and Chinese TV market.
Prior to Omdia, Bing Zhang joined IHS Markit in November 2014 when IHS acquired DisplaySearch, a leader in primary research and forecasting on the global display market. He has strong ties to TV manufacturers across the globe and is very familiar with the Chinese TV market and its development. Before joining DisplaySearch, he spent five years at the leading TV and mobile phone maker, Konka, in sales channel management, marketing research, and supply chain management.
Bing Zhang has degrees in polymer science, engineering, and business administration from Sichuan University, China.

Ken Park
Senior Research Manager
As part of Omdia's Components and Devices team, Ken Park heads the Professional AV Devices research team, specializing in global TV set market research with display technology expertise and various industry experiences.
His Pro AV team main research areas are digital signage, LED video displays, desktop monitor and specialty display devices. Ken provides excellent leadership in leading Professional AV devices research team and insightful viewpoints in analyzing and forecasting the global TV market and brand strategies at the same time. Consequently, Ken covers both TV and professional AV market and technology perfectly.
Prior to joining Omdia, formerly IHS Markit including DisplaySearch acquired by IHS, in 2008, Ken was in marketing and sales, starting with software engineer in the visual display division at Samsung Electronics. He has a bachelor's degree in computer science from Kookmin University in Seoul, Korea.

Jeff Lin
Senior Principal Analyst, Mobile PC
As the lead analyst for the tablet and notebook PC market at Omdia, Jeff is responsible for primary research and forecasting on mobile PCs (tablet and notebook PCs) and the emerging PC market, including gaming notebook PCs, always-connected PCs (5G notebook PCs), and wearable PCs (virtual reality/augmented reality devices).
Prior to working at Omdia, Jeff was an engineer at Chunghwa Picture Tubes, where he led TV panel development projects and promoted products. He worked at Samsung Electronics Taiwan, winning the annual best sales award while handling HP’s monitor business account, and was a procurement manager at Benq for monitor panel and TV set purchasing and panel price trend analysis. Jeff joined DisplaySearch in 2010 as a value chain analyst for the tablet, notebook PC, monitor, and public display supply chain. Jeff graduated from Taiwan’s National Cheng Kung University with a degree in environmental engineering and holds an MBA from National Chengchi University in Taiwan.

Kelly Lee
Principal Analyst
Kelly is an experienced analyst in Omdia’s TV team, covering smart TV and TV cost analysis. As a principal analyst, she covers TV design and features reports, TV-related ICs, TV Bom cost, and business strategy analysis. She also focuses on smart home devices, applications, and voice assistant trends.
Prior to working at Omdia, Kelly was deputy manager of the corporate marketing division at Compal, where she provided market insights to cross BU vice president level. She has also worked in the TV Market Intelligence Team at TPV Taiwan ODM TV, providing TV market analysis to Europe and Japan sales leaders. She was also a senior industrial analyst responsible for the TV market, display technology, and big data application for the e-commerce and OTT market at IEK/ITRI in Taiwan. She was awarded the Best Research Project Award of IEK in 2016. She holds a master’s degree in technology of management from the National Taiwan Normal University in Taiwan and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Feng Chia University in Taiwan.

Patrick Horner
Practice Leader, Consumer Electronics
Patrick leads the team of analysts focused on consumer electronics. While they cover a broad area of all home electronics products, there is a particular emphasis on understanding the evolving television market. Uncovering the trends and market direction helps to deliver the insights to forge future strategic decision making.
After graduating from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota, Patrick began his career as a retail buyer for Target Corporation. After eight years in senior buying roles, he switched sides to sell for manufacturers at national accounts. He also completed an MBA in Marketing. Working for both Casio and Philips, he sold literally billions of dollars of product to Best Buy and Target. After working for many years in sales, he joined Casio’s Tokyo office of Research and Development. There, he developed product strategy and consulted directly with the senior executive team.
