Senior Analyst, European Markets
As part of Omdia’s service provider markets team, Julia covers the German-speaking and Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) markets. Her research areas include communications service provider (CSP) strategies for mobile, fixed, pay TV, and over-the-top (OTT) services.
Julia’s strong analytical background contributes to her skill in writing country and company profiles on key European markets and local service providers, updating forecasts, and collecting data. She also researches the strategic shift of CSPs toward a multi-brand strategy. Prior to joining Omdia (formerly Ovum) in 2019, she worked in quantitative market research roles for audio manufacturer Sennheiser and market research agency Kantar. Julia holds a Master of Science in marketing and business analysis from the University of Edinburgh (UK) and a Bachelor of Science in international business from Hannover University of Applied Sciences and Arts (Germany).

Germany: Country Regulation Overview – 2023
Germany’s telecom regulator, Bundesnetzagentur (BNetzA), has been timely in completing reviews of all the listed markets, but the regulator continues to be slow in issuing remedies after these reviews. In 2022, it finally issued regulatory remedies for its analysis of the wholesale broadband markets – the wholesale local access (market 1/2020) and the wholesale central access (market 3b/2014 and previously market 5/2007), which were concluded in 2019 and 2020, respectively.
