At NEC, his responsibilities included strategic planning, project management, procurement, and hardware development for notebook PCs, LCD monitors, and their LCD panels. He has a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Tokyo University of Science, Japan.
Benjamin Tan
Research Analyst
As part of Omdia's Penang research operations team, Benjamin supports the components and devices market, with a specific interest in digital signage, mobile, and semiconductor research.
His main research focuses on mobile devices, digital signage, and professional displays. Benjamin provides sets of data and analysis on multiple aspects of flat panel displays technology and industry trends through quarterly worldwide pivot databases on LCD and OLED for public display and signage TV products, quarterly and yearly trend commentaries, and new product announcements. He also maintains quarterly databases for smartphone specifications with pricing, digital signage product specifications, and hospitality display shipments.
Since 2016, Benjamin has been a researcher at Omdia (formerly IHS Markit).
He holds a degree in electrical and electronic engineering from Northumbria University.
