The LCD TV panel price increase is again greater than expected because of the components supply shortage. Display driver ICs and glass substrates are now limiting panel makers’ output, causing concern that the shortage could worsen.

The accident at the NEG glass substrate manufacturing site in Japan has further affected the panel supply chain. Continuous strong demand and component shortage will keep driving the panel prices up in December 2020 and 1H21.
