Chief NAND Analyst

Alex is a chief NAND analyst with Omdia’s Components and Devices market pillar. He joined Omdia in March 2023 to provide insights into the supply/demand of the memory semiconductor market through the lens of memory vendors, OEMs/ ODMs, controller vendors, manufacturers, etc.

Alex has worked in the memory semiconductor industry for 27 years. He started his career at Samsung Semiconductor’s headquarters in Seoul, South Korea, and has held leadership roles at companies such as Samsung, SK hynix, and Micron Technology. In addition, Alex led the procurement and product management of DRAM, SSDs, SmartNICs, GPUs, switches, HDDs, transceivers, and cables at Supermicro and held a senior management position at ESSENCORE. He also helped start NAND/SSD market research at TRENDFOCUS (a boutique market research company specializing in storage). Alex holds a bachelor’s degree from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (Seoul).
