Amber Liu

Research Manager

As part of Omdia’s consumer device team, Amber Liu is leading smartphone research. In this role, she leads the team delivering actionable insights on go-to-market strategies, technology trends, and consumer study, underpinned by robust shipment and forecast data across over 80 markets. The service supports industry leaders to navigate the highly competitive smartphone landscape. 

Amber joined Canalys (now part of Omdia) in 2020 with focus on smartphone vendor globalization strategy and the Greater China market. Her insight helps clients maximize their commercial success. Previously, Amber spent four years working at a leading semiconductor group supporting executive decision-making with market research. Her expertise lies in analyzing competitive dynamics and end-user behavior. 

Amber holds a master’s degree in social policy from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Based in Shanghai, she is fluent in Mandarin and English.
