Although the cloud service provider market is mature, the area is still attracting new vendors and there are many companies with less than 10 years’ experience as providers. Google is one such company. Despite being relatively new to the area, Google was judged a “leader” in the Omdia Decision Matrix: Selecting a Cloud Services Provider, 2019–20, where it was one of the top vendors in operational management, service quality, scale and flexibility, security, and reporting and integration. In Omdia’s ICT Enterprise Insights 2019–20, Google was the third largest cloud services provider based on enterprises using the platform for at least 20% of their workloads.
