On March 5, 2020, Intel announced successful integration of its 1.6Tbps silicon photonics engine with its 12.8Tbps Barefoot Tofino 2 Ethernet switch. Intel continues to demonstrate progress on their long term goal of “Optical I/O for switching, logic, memory, RAN and sensor silicon”.
