As Chief Research Officer, Evan is responsible for the breadth of Omdia’s research across our four major segments: Enterprise, Consumer, Telecoms and Integrated Tech (semiconductors, displays, automotive, manufacturing and smart infrastructure). In this role he leads teams which are developing cutting-edge research in topics ranging from cybersecurity, AI, workspace technologies, channel, cloud and data center, consumer devices, media and entertainment services, games and games tech, media distribution and ProAV.
Previously, as Vice President of Service Provider research, Evan spent fifteen years focusing on telecoms service providers, their markets, and the vendors that support them, covering strategies and regulation, regional markets, networks, consumer, enterprise, and wholesale services. Prior to his research in the telecoms market, he developed expertise in enterprise communications, business intelligence, CRM and IT Services.
Evan’s primary focus today is to help providers identify new opportunities and guide the tech ecosystem toward them. He offers insights which enable vendors to counter competitive risk, develop ecosystem strategies, and offer innovative services to consumers and businesses. B2B services remain his core expertise.
Prior to joining Omdia (formerly Ovum) in 2009, Evan worked at Datamonitor and Nortel Networks. He holds a degree in English and European studies from Amherst College (Massachusetts, US) and Master of Philosophy in European Politics from the University of Oxford.
