Apple continues to use GF2 structure in the latest OLED-based iPad Pro. This is because on-cell touch does not meet the requirements for active pen performance. The proprietary GF2 structure has been applied continuously in the last four models, with the key difference being the addition of a shield layer between the GF2’s ITO film and display.
