IJP OLED is still considered a more advantageous process over thermal evaporated OLED in terms of aperture ratio and pixel arrangement. IJP OLED was mainly developed owing to several technical limitations of thermal evaporated OLED over the past decade and to meet IT display demand. TCL CSOT has been developing its own IJP OLED technology since 2016, and targets to start mass production of IJP OLED displays in its Gen 5.5 fab at the end of 2024. The scalability of capacity and optimization of IT products will be the most important hurdles for strengthening cost competitiveness.
