Portugal is on track to achieve nationwide high-speed internet coverage (minimum 1Gbps download, 150Mbps upload) through fiber-optic networks, positioning itself as one of the leading European Union (EU) nations to reach this goal, according to the Portuguese telecom regulator, Autoridade Nacional de Comunicações (ANACOM). This initiative is backed by an investment of around €345m ($368m), partially funded by both the government and the EU.
