With all major regions except South America reporting gains in April, calendar year-to-date sales of light vehicles and medium-/heavy-duty trucks combined were up 8.6% year-over-year to 28.3 million units. Excluding the big trucks, WI partner LMC Automotive expects global light-vehicle sales to total 86.1 million units in 2023, up 6.2% from 2022. Global LV demand is forecast to rise 4.9% to 90.3 million units in 2024.
