Although there are 39 additional BEVs – all-new or as added powertrain options to existing vehicles - expected in 2025, greatly adding to consumer choices, expectations are that the count of currently scheduled new BEVs over the next five years will be further reduced, and that more FHEV and PHEV programs will be slated in that period. According to GlobalData, more hybrids will “allow various OEMs to more affordably bring new models to help meet regulations into the market with technologies consumers are more familiar with and less averse to.”
