There seemed but little interest in beefing up dealer lots ahead of tariffs on vehicles built in Canada and Mexico, meaning sales could be negatively impacted even sooner if manufacturers react quickly with production cuts. If there is not a sudden change in the tariff status, it is possible some automakers could reduce production in March, possibly lessening the supply to dealers of vehicles that could have been sold in the same month – certainly in April.
