After growth slowed from huge double-digit gains over the past three years to single digits in first-half 2024, sales of battery-electric vehicles posted a 10.5% increase in Q3. However, among myriad other challenges, affordability remains a deterrent to stronger BEV sales. Although lower-cost models are increasing on dealer lots, most BEVs - as well as the new models coming in the next year - remain in premium-price segments.
