Supply-chain disruptions, though still a problem, appear to be abating quickly as production gets near pre-pandemic levels and automakers get more confident in meeting targets. One hitch could be work stoppages at plants in Canada and the U.S., if union leaders representing Ford, GM and Stellantis decide to strike one or more of the automakers after the current national contracts expire in mid-September. Production at the plants negotiating new contracts this year accounts for roughly 35% of total North America output.
