With the strike losses, inventory remained relatively flat from the prior month at the three automakers impacted by strikes. At the same time, inventory for the rest of the industry increased 11% from September. There will be some sluggishness in production in the first part of the month as closed plants at Ford, GM and Stellantis ramp up back to capacity, but output should rebound fast enough that sales return to normal levels by the end of the year.
