Despite falling 1.3% from November, December inventory of 2.30 million units was up 37.8% from same-month 2022’s 1.64 million and the highest end-of-year total since 2.75 million in 2020. December days’ supply totaled 42, down from November’s 48 but above like-2022’s 36. The total was the highest for the month since 2020’s 48 days’ supply. Inventory is expected to resume month-to-month growth in January.
