A continuation of huge growth in sales of full-hybrid vehicles undergirded gains, but a surge in battery-electric vehicles also contributed to the strong results. The BEV gain likely was sparked by consumers hitting dealer lots in case the U.S. government follows through with possible reductions or the complete elimination of EV credits. However, continued growth for both hybrids and BEVs through the end of the year is in doubt.
