Switzerland has good, fixed broadband coverage but the country’s national broadband plan, issued in June 2023, aims to expand 1Gbps network coverage to as many areas as possible by 2033, with the help of public subsidies. The Swiss regulator, the Federal Office of Communications (OFCOM), tends to intervene in the market only whenever it deems it necessary rather than conducting regular reviews.
