The Silicon Demand Forecast Tool Trax provides the user a model based on the Omdia quarterly Applications Market Forecast Tool (AMFT) revenue, translated into silicon wafer demand. The Trax tool provides information on silicon consumption by component, device, sub-device, wafer size, feature size, and market segment.
Please note, there has been a revision of the Silicon Demand Forecast. Following additional research and input from the industry, it was found that silicon for Discrete Components were underrepresented due to further ASP collapse in the market. Adjustments have been made, resulting in increased silicon for Discrete components. As a result, overall silicon MSI (millions of square inches) increased 1.6% in 2026, 1.3% in 2027, 1.4% in 2028, and 1.4% in 2029.
