PTC’26 has brought the community together year after year for over 50 years. Omdia’s third article on PTC’26 focuses on the conference itself and its elevation within the ICT ecosystem. The conference has evolved from a subsea cable-focused only event, to a digital infrastructure-AI event. The conference provides a platform for emerging organizations to have a voice. Our first report focused on the tech titans, covering Google’s innovative subsea mesh and Meta’s globe-spanning three-ocean-crossing Waterworth Project. Our second summarized global cable activity, highlighting cable initiatives to 2029.

The evolution and elevation of PTC’26

PTC is the meeting place for the international carrier community that builds and operates global subsea cables. At PTC’26, several attendees announced their personal PTC tenure of over 30 years. PTC’26 achieved its fourth consecutive year of record-breaking growth. From an informal observational perspective, many events were at full capacity with visibly larger attendance than in prior years.
