Global LED video display shipments grow 8.3% YoY in 3Q25, driven by regional diversification

LONDON, December 16, 2025: Global LED video display shipments increased by 8.3% year-over-year (YoY) in the third quarter of 2025, accompanied by a 6.9% YoY increase in revenue, according to Omdia’s LED Video Display Market Tracker- 3Q25. While the market reported double-digit declines in Eastern Europe and North America, steady growth was maintained overall, driven by strong performance in Middle East & Africa, Asia & Oceania and Latin America & the Caribbean.

“The overall LED video display market sustained positive momentum in 3Q25, supported by regional diversification and technology innovation.”  said Cindy Liu, Senior Analyst at Omdia, “Key technological breakthroughs in the manufacturing process and AI-driven enhancements are delivering stronger performance and improved efficiency for LED video display products.”

Micro-LED Innovations and AI-Enhanced Efficiency

Technological advancements in mini-LED and micro-LED production are reshaping the market, specifically through developments in Chip-on-Board (COB) and Micro LED in Package (MIP) technology. The latest products use substrate-free packaging to reduce the LED chip size to 0.2mm × 0.2mm, lowering costs while improving color uniformity. As chips move toward finer specifications, the introduction of both MIP and COB processes is shortening production times, improving reliability, and enhancing image quality.

At the same time, AI is supporting higher picture quality and lower power consumption. With major markets such as China and Western Europe strictly enforcing green and sustainable development requirements, brands are leveraging AI to improve power efficiency. This includes content pre-processing to identify "Power-Critical" areas and automatically adjusting brightness to ensure system stability.

These innovations are driving demand across diverse applications, including immersive culture installations in public spaces, AI-powered digital signage in retail, and wider-angle immersive displays for sports and e-sports. Smart city control rooms and data centers are also adopting high-definition real-time monitoring, while the hybrid work and education sectors are increasing adoption of with LED all-in-one displays.

Regional Market Analysis: Emerging Market Outperform

Omdia’s research highlights significant regional shifts in 2025:

Asia & Oceania (excluding China): This region remained the global leader in 3Q25, reporting a 17.2% shipment share and 16.1% revenue share. The region achieved 35.9% YoY shipment growth and 39.8% YoY revenue growth, driven by manufacturing strength and policy support for smart infrastructure. India, Indonesia, and Vietnam were key growth drivers.

Middle East & Africa: This region emerged as a key engine for growth, with shipment share rising to 6.8%, the highest level since 2021. Demand was driven by infrastructure development, digital transportation, and investments in sports venues, benefiting brands such as Daktronics, Absen, and Unilumin.

China: The market reported its lowest shipment share since 2021, with 2.3% YoY shipment growth and a 7.1% YoY revenue decline. While outdoor displays in retail and transportation faced limitations due to operation cost, demand shifted toward finer pixel pitch and ultra-high-definition displays for control rooms and corporate verticals.

North America: The market navigated recent tariff adjustments with resilience, driven by global supply chain adaptations. Samsung, AOTO, Unilumin, and SiliconCore achieved YoY growth thanks to high-value segments such as fine-pitch displays and virtual production solutions. Brands are now expanding manufacturing lines outside of China, including into the United States and Mexico.

Latin America & the Caribbean: Omdia forecasts that the expansion of manufacturing lines outside of China will support further market development in this region
