Omdia: Industrial display revenues grow 24% YoY in 2025, led by AUO Display Plus

Industrial display revenues grow 24% YoY in 2025

LONDON, January 19, 2026: Global industrial display panel makers achieved revenues reaching $3.4 billion in 2025, representing a 24% year-on-year (YoY) increase, according to Omdia's Industrial and Public Display & OEM Intelligence Service. This growth came despite a slight decline of 0.4% in unit shipments largely driven by the gradual ban on disposable e-cigarettes in Europe. In this specialized segment, where applications are diverse, but shipment volumes are relatively small, revenue growth remains the primary performance metric.

AUO Display Plus led the industrial display market revenue, driven by point-of-sale (POS) products. Innolux secured the second-highest revenue share supported by gaming console displays, while Tianma ranked third strengthened by HMI, handheld devices, home appliances and home medical products. Approximately three-quarters of the incremental revenue in 2025 came from gaming consoles and action cameras, which grew 101% and 23% YoY, respectively.

The adoption of new display technologies, including mini-LED backlight adoption in marine and drone applications, also contributed to revenue growth by increasing average selling prices. With revenue growth as the primary focus, panel makers are increasingly emphasizing set business expansion and the adoption of innovative display technologies, such as AMOLED, EPD, and mini-LED backlight solutions. the AMOLED penetration in industrial displays is expected to rise significantly over the coming years.

Starting from a modest 19% share in gaming console panels in 2025, this segment typically adopts 7 to 8-inch panels with 120Hz frame rates and requires lightweight designs, slimmer form factors, and a high drop resistance. AMOLED is emerging as a next-generation display option.

As AMOLED production experience accumulates, panel performance and reliability have steadily improved, enabling evaluation for high-specification applications, such as the military market. This includes avionics cockpit displays for fighter aircraft, armored vehicles, helicopters, and military-grade notebooks and rugged tablets, all of which require displays with high brightness and wide operation temperature.

Geopolitical tensions are accelerating global military activity, boosting demand for military-grade displays. Shipments of military-like displays are estimated to reach 965,000 units in 2025, a 5.9% YoY increase, led by AUO Display Plus, followed by Tianma and BOE. Omdia forecasts that shipments will grow 6.5% in 2026. In December 2025, the US Defense bill mandated that US military procurement, including optical glass and computer displays, phase out reliance on Chinese display technologies by 2030, which is expected to reshape supply chains and accelerate adoption of new display technologies.

“As industrial display panel makers aim to drive revenue growth through gaming consoles, action cameras, and military-grade devices, they are expanding from display modules into set businesses and adopting new technologies such as AMOLED, mini-LED backlight and EPD,” said Omdia Principal Analyst TzuYu Huang. “Amid geopolitical tensions and market uncertainty, supply chain participants must demonstrate their ability to manage diverse opportunities and challenges.”
