As part of Omdia’s Internet of Things (IoT) research team, Julian maintains and develops the company’s core IoT device forecasts. These forecasts are segmented by market sector, application, region, connectivity type, and device class.
Julian joined Omdia (formerly IHS Markit) in 1999. His areas of syndicated and custom research include cellular IoT gateways, edge computing in IoT, 5G use cases, and IoT in retail applications. Prior to joining Omdia’s IoT team in 2006, Julian managed the legacy IHS Markit telecoms operator research team that provided syndicated and custom research on quad-play bundling, telecoms regulation, fixed broadband, and VoIP. Julian has a Bachelor of Arts in politics, parliamentary studies, and Russian from the University of Leeds in England.

Alexandra Rehak
Chief Analyst, Digital Consumer Operator Strategies
As a member of the service provider team, Alexandra focuses on digital consumer strategies. She supports clients with insight and analysis on emerging digital services, strategies, and partnerships, specifically how service providers can leverage new business models in media, smart home, gaming, financial services, and other communications-adjacent areas.
Alexandra has over 20 years of experience as an industry analyst, consultant, and business leader. She lived in Asia for nine years and has worked on projects in over 20 countries. She joined Omdia in 2016 as an IoT practice leader, launching the company’s first IoT research service. She was previously a partner and head of research at Analysys Mason. She has held senior roles at PA Consulting Group, TeleGeography, Pyramid Research, and Motorola. Alexandra holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in cognitive science from Brown University and a Master of Arts in international studies (economics and Chinese studies) from Johns Hopkins University.
