Dave is a veteran journalist and analyst with over 30 years of experience covering the global auto industry. His work focuses on Autonomous Vehicles, Shared Mobility, and Electrification and these megatrends’ impacts on the retail automotive sector. He has covered battery technology, battery electric vehicles, autonomous vehicles, electric vehicle charging, the commercial vehicle market, and the transition to the digital economy and its effects on US automobile dealers. Dave also has written extensively about technological advances in sensors (cameras, radar, lidar), new vehicle architectures, controllers, and software. He is a juror for the Wards 10 Best Engines, Wards 10 Best Interiors, and Wards 10 Best UX awards.

In his time with Wards, Dave has held several top editorial positions, including Editor of Wards Automotive International, Wards Engine Update, and Wards Automotive Reports. He currently oversees content for Wards Intelligence, WardsAuto, and various research projects. Before joining Wards, Dave was a reporter at several suburban-Detroit newspapers and Automotive News. A native Detroiter, he graduated from Wayne State University with Bachelor of Arts degrees in journalism and English.
