Tim Dillon

Chief Analyst

Tim thrives in the research and analysis of technology markets in Asia Pacific and delivering insights to business, vendor, and channel organizations. He joined Omdia in 2025 after the acquisition of Tech Research Asia (TRA), an APAC analyst/advisory firm he co-founded in July 2012.

An articulate speaker and master of ceremonies, Tim has presented to large (1,500+) audiences through the spectrum to small, intimate roundtable discussions. In his career to date, he has facilitated over 240 executive roundtables and workshops for clients.

Recent projects include SMB tech adoption and buying, IT spending and budgets, CxO/CIO tech business strategy, cloud services, cybersecurity, cyber/business resiliency, AI, and enterprise mobility.

From 2007 to 2012, Tim was IDC’s AVP Enterprise Mobility/End-User Research. Between 1998 and 2007, he was Current Analysis’ Director of Global Telecoms Research, Europe & Asia.

Tim is a GSMA GLOMO Awards judge and has authored Australian telecommunications industry expert witness reports.
