Netflix announced below projected subscriber additions for Q4 2021 and have forecasted a slow start to 2022 as well. In response to this, Netflix’s share price fell by 22% on Friday 21st January and has since continued a slow slide down. With pressure from competitors mounting globally and high online video penetration in Netflix’s primary markets it may be time for Netflix to commit greater resources to developing markets to achieve the sustainable subscriber growth that investors demand.
