The world’s largest consumer platforms’ wide range of goods and services take a considerable share of consumer and enterprise spending. Omdia’s Consumer Platforms' Share of Digital Media Forecast places seven of the largest platforms as taking 66% of global revenue from sectors, including advertising, app stores, games, music, social media/communications, and video. As the Consumer Platforms Benchmark Database highlights, they are also often highly competitive in many product sectors, which we have divided to include commerce, productivity and information, financial services, and smart home products.
