John Canali
Principal Analyst, IoT
As part of Omdia's Internet of Things (IoT) practice, John is based in Boston. His specialist areas of coverage include service provider IoT strategies, IoT platforms, IoT product and go-to-market approaches, and key IoT vertical markets, including connected cars.
Prior to joining the Omdia (formerly Ovum) IoT team in 2019, John spent over five years working in product management and product development with AT&T's IoT organization. He provided commercial and market support in areas including connected cars, fleet solutions, smart cities, and smart homes. Before joining AT&T, John was an analyst with Strategy Analytics, focusing on connected car markets, technologies, and opportunities. John holds a Bachelor of Arts in economics from Trinity College in Connecticut and a Master of Science with distinction in international strategy and economics from the University of St Andrews in Scotland.

Josh Builta
Research Director, AI & IOT
As director of Internet of Things (IoT) research at Omdia, Josh manages a global team of analysts who produce insightful market intelligence on the IoT market. He guides the team’s strategy, research agenda, and commercial planning. Using industry contacts and granular data, Josh provides clients with actionable advice to uncover opportunities in the IoT space.
With over a decade of experience in the IoT industry, Josh has worked on topics ranging from hardware components to connectivity technologies and vertical market use cases. Prior to joining Omdia, he served as vice president of product management at Ingenu, formulating the company’s product roadmap and guiding cross-functional teams. From 2010 to 2016, he led IHS Markit’s coverage of the IoT market and guided the launch of the first IHS IoT Intelligence service. Josh’s previous experience also includes serving government and military officials as a national security intelligence analyst. He holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.

Natalia Modjeska
Research Director, AI and Intelligent Automation
Natalia Modjeska leads the AI & IA research team at Omdia. She has 15+ years of experience in developing and deploying analytics and AI. Her diverse career includes R&D, product and program management, sales, consulting, and client advisory. She has worked with organizations of all sizes and levels of maturity across many industries and geographies helping clients to harness the power of data, advanced analytics and AI for transformative change. She has advised 200+ organizations around the globe on topics ranging from AI strategy and use cases, to execution, best practices, governance, ethics, emerging trends, and vendor due diligence.
Natalia is passionate about helping clients to demystify AI/ML and to deploy these technologies responsibly. As part of that effort, she serves as an expert on the ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 42 - AI Standards working group and she volunteers with several non-profits to develop responsible AI certification; increase AI literacy and improve government through innovative technologies. Natalia holds a PhD in AI (NLP) from the University of Edinburgh in Scotland and an Executive MBA from the Ivey School of Business (Western University).

Bradley Shimmin
Chief Analyst, AI & Data Analytics
Brad has more than 25 years of experience in IT technology, analyzing data and information architectures. He is skilled in competitive market intelligence, technology selection, business development, and quantitative research. He also has experience as an IT professional, business analyst, book author/editor, and high-tech journalist/editor.
Brad helps enterprises and high-tech companies work effectively across several market areas, including enterprise data and analytics, artificial intelligence, digital transformation, and DevOps. His expertise also covers market evaluation and go-to-market messaging, and he has a background in software development and database administration.

Camille Mendler
Chief Analyst, Service Provider Enterprise
Camille Mendler has more than 25 years' multi-disciplinary experience in the digital economy and a global remit to anticipate key shifts in B2B demand patterns with a current focus on how 5G is disrupting enterprise ecosystems.
Her consultancy projects solve go-to-market challenges: identifying buyer segments, creating effective value propositions, and determining sales channel mix. Areas of expertise include managed and professional services, cloud and SaaS, and private networks.
During her tenure at Omdia, Camille has launched SoHo and SME and Enterprise Verticals intelligence services. She serves as a judge for the GSMA’s GLOMO Awards and TM Forum’s Excellence Awards.

Camille won a research fellowship in Russian Area Studies from Georgetown University and holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism and Russian from Northwestern University.

Roy Illsley
Chief Analyst, IT Operations
Roy’s key areas of research include cloud computing, cloud-native technologies, IT strategy, IT operational management, and data center technologies. He also advises on quantum computing, automation, virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI), and workspaces. Roy uses his extensive experience combined with Omdia’s surveys and market data to understand how technologies will add benefit to businesses.
He works in the enterprise team and has over 40 years’ experience in the IT sector working for a variety of consultancy and end-user companies with experience in defense, utilities, automotive, retail, and fast-moving consumer goods industries. He joined Butler Group as a senior analyst in January 2006. Roy has worked on many major report projects, white papers, and primary research. He also delivers keynote speeches globally. He has a Bachelor of Science (Hons.) in electronic engineering and telecommunications, an international MBA, and is a Member of the Institute of Engineering Technology (MIET) that holds the registered status of a Chartered Engineer (CEng).

Vladimir Galabov
Research Director, Cloud and Data Center
Vlad is responsible for the cloud and data center research practice’s expanding roadmap, focused on disruptive trends such as the shift to edge computing, the evolution of compute silicon, and the need for efficiency improvements and sustainability in the data center industry.
Vlad joined Omdia, formerly IHS Markit Technology, in 2016. He developed many of our unique, industry-leading analyses including our flagship open computing equipment research and our three-way server market reconciliation process. He’s held senior positions at Intel and Ciena, where his data-led insights served as a central input into the companies’ strategies. Key market models he developed include an in-depth analysis of telecommunications network operations costs, a PC inventory tracker, and an actionable IOT market forecast. Vlad’s work has even facilitated decision-making in the British Parliament. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in economics and management from Aston University, UK.

Hansa Iyengar
Senior Principal Analyst - Enterprise IT Management & Architecture and Lead Analyst Enterprise Technology Advisory Service
As a part of Omdia's Enterprise IT Management and Architecture IS, Hansa covers topics of importance to technology and business decision-makers. Digital transformation strategies, legacy modernization, systems integration and digital services around emerging technologies feature heavily in her research. She also leads Omdia's Enterprise Technology Advisory Service - a decision-maker focused service where she advises enterprises on digital transformation strategies and best practices. Hansa is the creative force behind the Omdia Digital Leaders Podcast which she also co-hosts. The podcast demystifies technology and business processes, practices, and solutions that impact digital transformation and leading a digital business.
Hansa has been a part of Omdia (formerly Ovum) since 2008. Her areas of expertise include transformation strategies and best practices, application modernization and systems integration services, outsourcing, global and offshore service delivery and engagement models, and vendor management and governance. She previously worked as a sourcing and vendor management analyst at Forrester Research. Hansa holds an MBA in finance and a bachelors in English from Gujarat University.

Tim’s practice provides Omdia's clients with insights and intelligence to help them compete more effectively in the collaboration and unified communications, customer engagement, and workplace transformation markets.
Tim joined the company in 2019 and has extensive experience in the unified communications and collaboration field, having held presales, technical, competitive marketing, business development, and senior product management roles. Before joining Informa Tech (now Omdia), Tim worked at GlobalData. He started his career in sales and training roles relating to unified communications and worked as a contact center consultant at Rockwell and in business development and market intelligence roles at Cisco during the industry's transition from digital to IP PBXs. He has also held positions as a senior product manager for Microsoft and the head of business development at NextiraOne.
